For this opportunity: 


You’ll be in charge of ZGM’s bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities, including processing accounts, recording and maintaining daily financial transactions, preparing reports, and assisting Accountants. In addition, you will be responsible for payroll, collecting debts, generating invoices, and making payments.  

This position will be in-office in our Calgary office location. 


In this role you will handle the following:  


  • General Bookkeeping and Administrative duties under Controller’s direction 
  • Bank deposits, filing documents 
  • Processing client billings 
  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable  
  • Managing bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing  
  • Performing month-end closings  
  • Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions 
  • Update and maintain the general ledger 
  • Reconciliation of entries into the accounting system 
  • Recording of debits and credits 
  • Account reconciliation to assert the accuracy of transactions 
  • Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements 
  • Monitor any variances from the projected budget 
  • Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers 




  • Proven bookkeeping experience – minimum of 5 years  
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles 
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records 
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers 
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software 
  • Proficiency in English and in MS Office 
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills 
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail 
  • BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is not required but considered an asset. 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Contribute to building a positive agency culture
