For this opportunity, ZGM is looking for a resourceful and organized Media Strategist in our Calgary office.  Are you someone whose has know-how in all digital platforms, offline media, niche channels, and probably a few channels that haven’t been invented yet? But all this will be no sweat for a team player like you – surrounded by a strong and supportive media team, collaborating closely with disciplines from across the agency, and working to bring impactful results to our great clients.

Key Responsibilities


  • Compile research and insights including market, demographic, media consumption and others using our media research tools.
  • Prepare presentations consolidating research data with insights
  • Formulating long-term and campaign strategies for variety of clients
  • Measuring and presenting campaign results with clear takeaways and recommendations
  • Working with vendors and directly within self-serve platforms
  • Lead the planning and buying of media on behalf of our clients
  • Efficiently manage client budgets, adding value to their media investments
  • Work as part of a collaborative team alongside all agency disciplines
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Optimization of digital and social campaigns
  • Maintain excellent interdepartmental relationships with co-workers and support ZGM staff with their digital education
  • Provide support, insights and tactics to help improve under-performing campaigns.
  • Provide social media audience insights to help form overall strategies or support RFP submissions.
  • Create post campaign evaluation reports and presentation decks.
  • Assist with and present directly to clients


Required Skills


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an agency media position
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience with paid SEM, social, programmatic and digital buying
  • Experience planning and buying traditional radio, TV, OOH and experiential
  • Experience using Google Analytics (an asset if you are familiar with GA4)
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or communications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a collaborative team
